Russell Keith

RUSSEL KEITH served as a Place and Native Voice Intern at Natural Bridges/Hovenweep National Monument in southeastern Utah during the summer of 2009.  A member of the Navajo tribe, Russell offered to Monument visitors the unique perspective of his culture’s relationship to that environment (the Navajo reservation is nearby), while also educating them on the history and culture of the Ancient Ones in the region as well.  In his presentations, he was particularly eloquent in describing the moral stewardship responsibility for sacred sites and landforms—whether on or off-reservation—that his culture imparts to its members.

Then a student at the College of Eastern Utah in its Cultural Resource Management program, he has since graduated to continue to pursue his career in public service.
